Registration for adult education classes at the Waipahu Community School for Adults Hilo Campus will be conducted from Aug. 3-14.

The former Hilo Community School for Adults offers classes in basic education, high school diploma equivalency and workforce education. The classes include basic language arts and math, life skills required for the Competency-Based Community School Diploma Program and preparation for the General Education Development (GED) test.

Additional classes include English as a second language and special interest, such as Hawaiian language.

Now in its fourth year, WCSAHC is introducing a new program called ICAN. This inexpensive ($20 a semester) career and workforce certification program is designed to help high school graduates transition to a job, career, college or training program.

ICAN teachers and counselors work with participants to develop a transition plan and teach skills that will prepare them for success in their chosen career or in college.
